Gramin Dak Sevak Application Form: GDS Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must check the GDS eligibility criteria before applying for the posts:
GDS Age Limit
- The candidate should be between 18 to 40 years as on November 12, 2020
- There is relaxation in upper age limit for candidates belonging to reserved categories:

GDS Educational Qualification
- Candidate must have passed 10th class with Mathematics and English as compulsory or elective subjects.
- The candidate must have studied the local language at least up to Class 10 as compulsory or as elective subjects.
GDS Computer Knowledge
Candidates must obtain a basic Computer Training Course Certificate for at least 60 days duration from any Computer Training Institute run by Central Govt/State Govt/Universities/Boards/Private Institutions/Organizations.
However, the requirement of a basic computer knowledge certificate is relaxable if the candidate has studied computer as a subject in Matriculation or Class XII or any other higher educational level.
Other Criteria:
- Candidates must also have knowledge of cycling which is a pre-requisite for all GDS posts.

Note that as per the official notification the local language for Jharkhand is Hindi and for Punjab it is Punjabi.
Gramin Dak Sevak Selection Process
Check out the following points related to the selection process:
- Candidates will be selected for the post based on the merit list which will be prepared as per the rules. No exam will be conducted for the selection of candidates.
- The candidates will be selected based on the marks obtained in Class 10 and no weightage will be given for higher educational qualification.
- The percentage of aggregate marks will be considered to the accuracy of 4 decimals for finalizing the selection.
- However, passing all the subjects as per the respective approved board norms is mandatory.
- Candidates will have to apply by entering their 10th marks. In the case of candidates having Grades/Points, the same has to be converted to marks and filled in the application form.
Gramin Dak Sevak Salary (Post-Wise Payscale)

- – The minimum TRCA for 5 Hours/Level 2 in TRCA slab is Rs. 14500/- per month and the maximum is Rs. 35,480/-.

How To Apply For Gramin Dak Sevak Posts 2020?

Job Profile or Work Profile of Branch Post Master – BPM
The job profile of Branch Post Master (BPM) is listed below:
- The Branch Post Maser is responsible to take care of the entire Gram Panchayat postal works.
- Basically, the BPM will be heading the branch. That is, he/she should administrate the tasks to be performed in his/her branch.
- The Branch Post Master is responsible to promote the Government Schemes such as Sukanya Samrudhi Yojana, Money Depositing, etc. and try to open the maximum number of accounts in his/her branch.
- The BPM is also responsible to take care of money orders, book posts, speed posts, etc.
- BPM is responsible to assign the task of distribution to the concerned person.
